So, your guests are telling you how much they LOVE your property, but aren’t writing reviews…
We got this question on our most recent episode of Meet the Host // S1 EP3 with @friscomountainhouse!
Here’s our advice on getting your guests to write reviews:
1. Make sure you’re giving a FIVE STAR experience before continuing.
Why?
Because what if your guests aren’t giving you reviews because deep down, they feel like you’re a 3-star and 4-star listing?
Therefore, you need to make sure you’re giving a five-star experience FIRST.
2. In the last step of your 5-Star, 5-Step automatic messaging system, ASK.
See, here’s the thing: people LOVE giving their opinions and oftentimes do it involuntarily.
When was the last time someone gave you advice and you were like “but I didn’t ask tho…”
Either way, they would have given you their advice whether or not you asked! So, just ASK.
3. While on their stay, always make time to ask how their stay has been and if they need something during the stay.
Everybody loves an accommodating host, so as much as you can, always check your guests.
Who knows, they may leave a good review after or they’ll keep coming back to stay in your unit.
4. Engage With Your Existing Reviews
Respond to unfavorable reviews and try to remedy the issue rather than ignoring the issue.
Positive evaluations are the same way: a simple thank-you note goes a long way.
5. Exceeded expectations
Guests who are pleasantly delighted by what they received leave positive feedback; consequently, avoid setting unrealistic expectations in advertising and marketing interactions.
6. The right timing to ask for their feedback
The best time to ask the guests for feedback would be the time when the service was still fresh on their minds.
There is a long list of ways to make your guests write a review but above all else, never forget to be hospitable because that will be the first thing that the guests will notice and always ask nicely for reviews.
